1. Removing rust
You may already know this tip, but cola is very effective for removing rust. How should you do it? Put the rusted part in a bowl of cola or pour it over the rusted spot, and the rust will be gone before you know it. This is because there are traces of phosphoric acid in cola, which break down rust and can make things like bicycle spokes, nails and car bumpers look as good as new. This tip is even more amazing in combination with aluminium foil. Pour a little cola over the rusted spot, rub some aluminium foil over it and you will see the rust disappear. Please note! According to the experts, Coca-Cola Light yields the best results.
2. Burnt cookware
Everyone has probably had to deal with burnt pots and pans before, because if you use your cookware longer and do less maintenance, you have a higher chance of burning your cookware. Of course you can let it soak in some soapy water, and then scrub hard.
Another way to make burnt cookware, such as pans and pots, as good as new is by pouring some cola in the pan and leave it to soak for half an hour. Afterwards, rinse the pan and then it should be as good as new. If not? Scrub a little and/or repeat the process.
3. The seals in the bathroom
The bathroom is an ideal place for moulds: it’s often warm and moist, and of course that is ideal. Where do all these moulds end up? In the seals between the bathroom tiles. This is why cleaning the bathroom tiles and seals is one of my least favourite household chores. Of course you can scrub very hard, but before you know it the black spots of mould will be back in the seals. Cola is the solution. What should you do? Rub Coca-Cola on the seals, leave it for a few minutes and then clean the seals with a clean tea towel.
